The Hearth and Patio: A Legacy of Warmth & Style
The Hearth and Patio has been a trusted name in Charlotte since 1978 when it first opened as The Chimney Shop. As the business grew, it relocated to Monroe Road, expanding its offerings to include high-end outdoor furniture—perfectly complementing its winter fireplace selection.
In 1985, longtime employees Mildred & Don Marze took ownership, continuing the tradition of quality and service. Fast forward to 2025, and the store entered an exciting new chapter with co-owners Jon Hardecopf, Todd Cioppa, and Ashley Cioppa. They’ve modernized the space while staying true to the store’s roots—offering upscale products at fair prices, exceptional service, and expert advice.
And yes, the beloved cowbell still greets every customer at the front door!
Hearth and Patio has expanded to include a dedicated outdoor living furniture showroom that features furniture and accessories from top-names in manufacturing. Grills, Outdoor Kitchens, as well as, Fireplaces, Stoves, Gas Logs, and all Hearth Accessories now have their own showroom. The third section of the Hearth and Patio Outdoor Living compound includes a rear building featuring Wicker and Wood collections. This building also holds one-of-a-kind, discontinued, and floor samples from the showrooms at deeper discounts.
